One line of code can change the world. Come write yours with top financial firms.
FinTech Focus is a two-week immersive program designed for incoming college freshmen with an interest in finance, computer science and technology.
Over the course of the program, students learn the principles of computer science, gain exposure to the financial services industry, and get hands-on experience developing real-world applications. Students will have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers, learn the basics of banking and finance, and gain insights into STEM careers paths available in college and beyond.
The course will take place virtually, with the support and sponsorship of top financial firms. The program is open to students who are completing their final year of high school and are planning on enrolling in an accredited college or university for Fall 2022 or Spring 2023.

Yes! FinTech Focus is accepting applications from students nationally for summer 2023. However, we do prioritize applicants from Georgia, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Texas.
Participants will need a quiet place to work with access to Wi-Fi in order to participate. A laptop will be required. If you do not have access to a laptop for the duration of the program, you may apply for a loaner laptop.
The curriculum is project-based, and students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the technologies used to build web applications. Primary areas of concentration include back-end programming with Python, front-end development and design using HTML and CSS, and the Flask web microframework. By the end of the course, students will have built their own full-stack web application. This class is not a replacement for a college computer science course - rather, it gives students a practical introduction to building real-world applications. Students will find that the skills they learn in this program will continue to be useful in college-level computer science courses. In addition to coding, participants will learn about the Financial Technology (FinTech) industry and gain a foundational understanding of corporate banking/finance.
After the immersive two-week program, students will join an active alumni network where they will gain access to webinars, weekly office hours, workshops, events, and more. The FinTech Focus team hopes to provide support and guidance to students as they move through college and begin their professional careers.
Join us for an upcoming information webinar session on February 22nd, March 9th, or March 20th to learn more about the FinTech Focus program! These sessions will review curriculum, the application process, and provide a space for attendees to ask any outstanding questions about the program.
